Curiosities part 1

Hey guys!

Today I´m gonna talk about some curiosities in the English language. Maybe you are just like me, someone who likes to search stuff online. After thinking about this subject I started to take a look on internet to see if I could find something new. As a matter of fact, there´s always plenty of information everywhere, it´s just a question of being interested in. Let´s see then!

1-“I am” is the shortest complete sentence in the English language. ( But please, don´t write this one when your teacher asks you to make sentences, alright? );-)

2-A pangram sentence is one that contains every letter in the language. For example:  The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. ( Are you looking for all the letters?) ;-)

3-Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (*breath*) is NOT the longest word in English but it´s one of them. ( If you find the biggest, please leave a comment)

4- The shortest, oldest, and most commonly used word is “I.”

5- A new word is added to the dictionary every two hours.
6- Swims will be swims even when turned upside down. (Such words are called ambigrams.)
7-English is the language of the air. (This means that all pilots have to identify themselves and speak in English while flying, regardless of their origin.)

Well, I´m gonna search for more curiosities and I´ll post soon or later, I hope you enjoyed reading this. If you have a curiosity to share, feel free to leave a comment here or on facebook.
See you!
