CLM celebrates Halloween and Día de Muertos, virtually.

 Hello students!

This year the world has changed the way they see things. Due to the pandemic of Covid-19, schools are still closed and Education has come to a new era, a virtual one!

In this sense, our teachers of English and Español celebrated one of the most important events, together with their students, in a different way. As they couldn´t get together in the same way they do every year, they decided to spend the last week doing some activities which involved the history, culture, and fun of Halloween and Día de Muertos. Students listened, watched, played, presented work, and learned more about these celebrations and everything took place remotely. Teachers from countries all over the world did the same and it was nice to see students engaged in the American, Irish, British and Mexican culture of Halloween and Día de Muertos.

We would like to say thanks to all teachers and students who dressed in their costumes, decorated their houses, and participated in the classes. Below you will be able to see some of the ways students and teachers participated. And we take one thing as a lesson. Teachers have done their best to keep students motivated and they have taught in so many different ways during the current environment of the covid-19, that they deserve to be congratulated for the hard work and motivation! It is not different in CLM. All the empathy and will of doing something for education in our country and also for learning has only shown that everything is possible if there´s a wish for that.

This was only one of the cultural activities we had this year! Students and teachers of Spanish celebrated Día de Muertos in a similar way. Gracias a los alumnos de español!;-) In Spanish, teachers had a web conference with a Mexican lady, and students had some classes about el Día de Muertos, as well.

That´s all for now!

Take a look at some of the activities and images from last week.
