Carnival in the USA

Carnival is the most famous Brazilian holiday. During this time, Brazil attracts 70% of tourists. Variations in carnival celebrations are observed throughout the Brazilian cities. In the United States, carnival has got other name: it is called Mardi Grass, in honor of French language. It takes place in New Orleans, a city that was colonized by French settlers and after sold to the US.

The earliest reference to Mardi Gras “CARNIVAL” appears in a 1781 report to the Spanish colonial governing body. That year, the Perseverance Benevolent & Mutual Aid Association was the first of others clubs and organizations formed in New Orleans.

    It's very interesting meet more about the carnival in the United States, I already heard about Mardi Gras in New Orleans. I think very different from Brazil, but the fun is the same haha!
